History and Landmarks
Poreč is a city with a rich history dating back to Roman times. The Euphrasian Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of Poreč's most important historical monuments and a true symbol of the city. Built in the 6th century, the basilica features mosaics from that period. Additionally, in Poreč, you can visit the Poreč Town, the Old Town, the Romanesque Church of St. Nicholas, and the Poreč Museum Complex.
History lovers can explore the Museum of Local History, which showcases exhibits illustrating life through various epochs. The Old Town’s streets, paved with stone slabs, will make you feel as if you're stepping back in time.
